A Letter From the Founder
It started during COVID.
I was in bed during lockdown, watching the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when a simple question stayed with me:
Why can't an electric car race at Le Mans?
EVs had already proven their incredible speed in straight-line drag races and short-distance performance. They were fast, powerful, and technologically advanced. So what was really stopping them from taking on the world's greatest endurance race?
Was it charging? Was it battery efficiency? Was it thermal management? Was it long-run durability?
And if charging was no longer the main limitation, could an EV not only enter an endurance race, but perform well in one?
That question became the beginning of the Electric Le Mans Initiative.
We are here to explore what it takes to bring a fully electric powertrain to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This is not only about speed. It is about endurance, reliability, energy strategy, engineering discipline, and proving what electric performance can become under the most demanding conditions.
We believe the next era of motorsport will be built by people willing to ask difficult questions and make the first move.
